Inclement weather: Flights delayed at BKIA but not cancelled

Air Arabia flight 555 was scheduled to arrive from Sharjah at 11pm on Friday, but was diverted to Karachi

As weather conditions in the city gradually returned to normal, around 12 flights departed from Bacha Khan International Airport (BKIA) on Saturday. However, the flight schedule was disrupted Saturday morning as some flights were delayed, though none got cancelled.


According to Civil Aviation Authority, PIA flight PK-218 was scheduled to arrive at BKIA from Abu Dhabi at 8:30am. However, it was rescheduled for 6:30pm the same day. On the other hand, PK-217, which was scheduled to depart for Abu Dhabi at 9:30am was rescheduled for 7:15 in the evening.


Air Arabia flight 555 was scheduled to arrive from Sharjah at 11pm on Friday, but was diverted to Karachi and reached Peshawar at 4:37pm on Saturday. Officials said around 12 flights operated at the facility, adding the flights were delayed but not cancelled. On Friday, weather conditions disrupted the flight schedule at BKIA and passengers faced immense problems due to the delays. CAA has been operating over 35 flights from BKIA with four domestic flights on a daily basis.
