KARACHI:

Bahria Town has started booking of its 62-storey building that stands tall near the shores of Arabian Sea at Shahrah-e-Firdousi in Karachi.

Bahria Icon, offering panoramic views of the sea as well as of the megacity, will have 62 storeys in total once complete. Of these, 41 floors have been completed while work on the remaining floors is in progress at a fast pace.

Once complete, it will offer world-class business facilities and a host of entertainment opportunities. A flyover and two underpasses, built with private investment of Rs1.8b, have already been completed and are providing much needed communication facilities in the area.

Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz said that the building was a gift for the people.  “I hope that the building will serve as an icon of the greatness of the country and the nation.” Talking to the media, he said that the project would present a positive face of the country.

Project director John Ashcroft said the design of the project is of a high standard and the architecture presents a very modern look. A highlight of the building will be a restaurant at the top floor. Once completed, it will be the highest restaurant of Pakistan. TRANSLATED BY ARSHAD SHAHEEN

Eraj mehmud | 8 years ago | Reply Meanwhile, Malik Riaz has fired all support staff including sweepers, gardeners, and most important of all security guards from Bahria Town, Islamabad. I guess, since the organization has pretty much sold all the plots in given location, they no longer care whether its stays as safe or well maintained as before. People investing in Bahria Towns elsewhere should take this into account.
