A seasonal influenza virus can cause mild to severe illness and even death
ISLAMABAD:
The National Health Institute (NIH) has issued an advisory for the prevention and control of influenza urging people to take a number of precautionary measures against the disease. In its advisory, NIH said that in the wake of the recent upsurge in the number of Influenza A cases in neighbouring countries of India, Iran, China and also in Pakistan in the recent weeks, it is imperative to be vigilant in detection of any suspected case especially in high risk individuals, the advisory said. A seasonal influenza virus can cause mild to severe illness and even death, particularly in some high risk individuals.
