Unidentified assailants: Policeman gunned down

FAISALABAD: Police said on Thursday that unidentified gunmen had killed an SI at Station Chowk. Officials said Mansoorabad resident SI Hafeezur Rahman was on his way to work when he was held up by two men riding on a motorcycle. Police said they had fled from the spot after shooting him. Officials said the SI was being taken to a hospital when he had died. Police said the body of the deceased had been sent to a mortuaty for autopsy. Officials said a search had been initiated across Mansoorabad and Tariqabad to nab those responsible for killing the policeman. Police said no headway had been made on this account yet.
