This was informed by a senior official of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman’s Inspection and Monitoring Team (CI&MT) during a briefing session held at the regional bureau in Rawalpindi on Wednesday. NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry chaired the briefing session.
In 2015, Rawalpindi bureau received 7002 complaints and verified 288 complaints and 128 inquiries, and 52 investigations, said a press release.
The conviction rate was 78 per cent as the bureau recovered Rs1,441.755 million during 2015.
The inspection was carried out by the team from January 18 to 20 last year to review and evaluate the performance of the bureau on the basis of the newly-introduced quantified grading system.
The senior member briefed the chairman about the strengths and weaknesses of the regional bureau.
He said that under the system performance of all regional bureaus is being evaluated during January and February at uniform criteria; 80 per cent marks will be considered “Outstanding/Excellent”, between 60 per cent and 79 per cent will be considered as “Very Good”, between 40 and 49 per cent will be considered as “Good”, while marks less than 40 per cent will be considered as “Below Average”.
The team graded Rawalpindi’s performance very good with 65 per cent on Operational Efficiency Index (OEI).
The chairman appreciated the performance of Rawalpindi bureau and directed all officers to work harder, more vigilantly and diligently and improve their performances and weed out corruption and corrupt practices.
He said that his team has done good work. He said that there is always room for improvement; however good work always gets appreciated and shows commitment of the NAB Bureau.
