Lok Virsa employees: Pension issue resolved: Pervaiz Rashid

The senator said the employees were now receiving their basic pension

Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervez Rashid on Tuesday said that the issue of discontinuation of pension of National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) employees had been resolved.


The senator said the employees were now receiving their basic pension.


Replying to an attention notice of Dr Nafisa Shah, Imran Zafar Leghari, and others, Rashid said the employees were calling for the inclusion of annual increments and an increase in pension amount.


Further, the minister said the issue of increment and increase in pension was also on the agenda of the board of governors of Lok Virsa. He said efforts are under way to resolve the issue.


He added that when the present administration of Lok Virsa took charge, the department had Rs6 million in liabilities. He also said that the present administration restored pension to retired employees.
