Improved security: Tiarza-Wana road reopens

ISLAMABAD:
The road between Tiarza and Wana towns of South Waziristan Agency which was closed in 2009, has been reopened. The road had been closed for the past seven years due to terrorist activities but the area has now been cleared of militants, reported Radio Pakistan. The road was shut when military operation Rah-e-Nijat was launched in the agency. The security forces have cleared the areas around the road and the people are now free to use the thoroughfare that connects a major town of South Waziristan with the agency’s headquarters in Wana. People of South Waziristan have welcomed the elimination of the terrorists and opening of the road.
