Various incidents: Girl run over by train; two killed over feud (Islamabad city)

A 12-year-old girl was run over by a train, while two men were shot dead over a family feud in Gujar Khan and Chauntra in the last 24 hours.


In the first incident, a mentally challenged girl identified as Maria, was struck by a passenger train on the Jand railway track. Bystanders shifted the girl to the tehsil headquarters hospital where the doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.


In another incident, two men were shot dead over a family feud in the Chauntra area of Rawalpindi.   The incident took place on Chauntra Road when two armed motorcyclists, identified as Sohail and Nazim, stopped a passenger van and shot at Fazal and Ashraf after offloading them from the vehicle. The injured died on their way to the district headquarters hospital.


Meanwhile, armed robbers struck at a house in Bewal and made away with cash and valuables worth more than Rs1 million. Police said a gang of armed robbers broke into the house of Sheraz Hussain and looted Rs5,000 in cash, jewellery worth Rs1.5 million, 200 British pounds, mobile phones and other valuables.


The police have registered separate cases.
