Highway Traffic: Police ban heavy traffic at peak hours
Police also said security has been increased around media offices
ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad Traffic Police will deploy additional officers at the Islamabad Expressway, particularly near Faizabad, to ensure smooth traffic flow. The decision was made by the force given the intense traffic during the mornings and evenings, between 7am and 9am, and from 5pm to 7pm. The decision was taken by SSP (Traffic) Malik Matloob in light of the ongoing construction work at the road, for convenience of motorists commuting daily between Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Further, the ITP has decided to bar heavy traffic on the highway during these four hours. The official said traffic is being diverted from Zero Point towards Kashmir Highway, Dhokri, Kashmir Chowk and Rawal Dam Chowk. Rawalpindi traffic will be diverted towards Dhoke Hassu and Hajj Complex Road. Police also said security has been increased around media offices.
