Work in progress: Road from Natha Khan Bridge to airport to remain closed

Road will remain close from Sunday 1am till 1 in the afternoon

KARACHI: Karachi’s main artery Shahrah-e-Faisal to remain closed from near Natha Khan Bridge to Jinnah International Airport.

According to a statement issued by the city commissioner’s office, the road will remain closed for any kind of traffic due to the repair work on the railway track near Natha Khan Bridge from Sunday 1am till 1 in the afternoon.

‘Announced’ repair work clogs roads

Commuters have been advised to take the alternate route from Gulistan-e-Johar to Pehalwan Goth or the Korangi Industrial-Shah Faisal Flyover area route to reach the airport.

The repair work was supposed to be carried out last week but was postponed owing to the sudden transfer of former Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui.

This is second time the road has been closed in last two weeks.

Earlier on January 2, the opposite track of the same road was closed for closed for repair work of the railway track from 11pm to 11am next day. However, the road was only partially opened even until 4pm the next day.

On the other hand, the commuters complained to be uninformed about the closure of the road.
