If you thought that that pretty girl in class, who isn't even that smart, gets better grades just because of her looks, you were right.

It has been proven in a new study conducted by researchers from the Metropolitan State University of Denver that there's a strong correlation between physical appearance and academic performance.

Findings show that pretty girls are deemed more trustworthy, make more money, get more free snacks, and of course, better grades. Yeah, life is unfair for those of us who aren't blessed with good looks.

The researchers asked people to rate student ID photos and then compared these ratings to their academic records to test their theory. The results showed that "women judged as least attractive earned significantly lower grades," while those considered pretty scored higher grades, according to NPR.

The study also shed light on the fact that this phenomenon is more likely to occur when the grader is a male professor.

The flip side, however, is that this privilege is only for when the girls attend classes in person. It was found that in online courses, where the student can't be seen, appearance held no value and grading was more unbiased.
