Almost half of Lahore and a large swath of the country on Friday were left without electricity as intense fog and humidity caused a shutdown of Punjab's Muzaffargarh district’s grid station, Express News reported.
The fog caused Lahore’s 220KV grid stations to trip, leaving a large number of cities, including Kot Lakhpat, Wellington Mall, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Qurtuba, Johar Town, Multan Road, Ravi Road, Defence, Gulberg, Samanabad and Faisal Town, without electricity.

According to officials of National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC), power transmission will be restored within the next few hours.
Moreover, officials of Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) said they are gathering information of the shutdown, adding that about a dozen grid stations of 220KV power have tripped in Lahore.
Further, Gujranwala, Nankana Sahib and Mureedkay also witnessed power outage due to a technical fault in the system.
