HARIPUR: For the last few years, there has been a rapid increase in the number of engineering colleges across the country. However, it must be noted that this upsurge does not necessarily have positive impacts only. With every convocation ceremony, we are graduating an army of unemployed engineers due to the unavailability of jobs.
The government needs to take serious measures on the employment front before students become discouraged from pursuing a career in engineering, which can open new avenues that lead to advancement in Pakistan in the areas of science, mathematics and technology.
