Over 110 Pakistani companies are going to participate in the country’s first single-country exhibition in Colombo to be organised from January 15-17, said the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) on Tuesday.
Most exhibitors taking part belong to the textile and apparel, agriculture, pharmaceutical, engineering goods and machinery, marble and onyx and the carpet industries.
Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are also participating in large numbers.
“We are excited to host the exhibition and hope to showcase the best manufacturing capability of Pakistan,” TDAP Secretary Rabiya Javeri Agha said, adding that it was a joint effort from both countries to establish connections between business communities. She went on to say that imports from Pakistan will be doubled from the existing $267 million to $500 million this year.
