Damaging private property: Another case registered against cop beater

KARACHI: The police have registered another case against a citizen, Shafiq, who was earlier arrested on charges of attacking traffic cops but was released later. Shafiq was briefly detained for beating up traffic policemen outside the PIDC traffic police post on Monday, after a case was registered against him by a traffic policeman. However, he has been booked yet again in another case at the Civil Lines police station. This time the case was registered not by cops but a citizen named Asadullah. "My car was lifted by the traffic police and was parked outside a police post and he [Shafiq] broke the windowpanes of my car during a fight with the cops," Asadullah told the police in his recorded statement.
