Balochistan Assembly: MPAs decry Wapda, Qesco inefficiency

QUETTA: The members of Balochistan Assembly lashed out at the authorities of Quetta Electric Supply Company (Qesco) and Wapda over the inefficiency of the departments. During the session of Balochistan Assembly on Monday, CM Sanaullah Zehri summoned the Qesco and Wapda authorities on January 14, to brief the members so that their reservations could be addressed. The session held with Speaker Raheela Durrani in chair also offered Fateha for the policemen gunned down at Multani Mohala in an act of target killing. Speaking on the point of order, the parliamentary leader of Pushtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Abdul Raheem Ziaratwal said that Qesco and Wapda have failed to install electricity poles and transformers despite being paid. PkMAP’s MPA Syed Liaqat Agha said that he had paid Rs3 million to Wapda for transformers in 2013-14 and Rs6 million in 2014-15, but the authority has not  even started work so far.
