Dengue fever: Prevention measures reviewed
The chief secretary directed Rawalpindi and Multan DCOs to prepare a better strategy

Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal directed the Health Department authorities on Monday to be prepared to deal with dengue fever. The chief secretary chaired a meeting to review dengue fever prevention measures at Civil Secretariat. He ordered that vector surveillance be continued. “Better planning and coordination are important in controlling dengue. There is need for working with national spirit to eradicate dengue virus,” Gondal said. He favoured steps to aware people about the dengue fever. The chief secretary directed Rawalpindi and Multan DCOs to prepare a better strategy in view of last year’s dengue fever cases in the two cities. He praised the Lahore for his efforts to control the virus in the city. Earlier, Health Special Secretary Ali Jan gave a briefing on the measures taken to control dengue fever. The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Adviser on Health Khwaja Salman Rafique, Additional Chief Secretary Shumail Ahmad Khwaja, and KEMU VC Faisal Masood attended the meeting.
