PESHAWAR:

PHC Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel dismissed the bail application of two people on Monday in a narcotics smuggling case.

Applicants Muhammad Obaid and Zebi Gul were accused of smuggling five kilogrammes of heroin which was found in their vehicle. The suspects were arrested within the jurisdiction of Nasir Bagh police station. The court was informed that the contraband was being smuggled to Punjab.

Additional Advocate General Mian Arshad Jan claimed Gul would get Rs15,000 per trip and they were both professional smugglers.

However, Gul pleaded her innocence in the court and said she was unaware of any narcotics in the car. After hearing the arguments, the court dismissed the bail application.

The same PHC bench also dismissed the bail application of Nasim Bibi who was allegedly involved in smuggling narcotics in Hayatabad.
