Down The Ravine: Nine dead, seven injured in accidents

CHITRAL/ SWAT: At least nine people died and seven others were injured in separate accidents in Besham in Shangla and Darwesh area of Chitral on Friday. Police told journalists a van carrying seven people was en route to Karora from Besham when the driver lost control of the vehicle as he was over speeding. The van plunged into a ravine near the turning point in Kerai. As a result, six passengers from Ambela village of Raniyal union council died on the spot while the driver sustained minor injuries. Locals rushed to the site and took the bodies to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Besham. In Chitral, three people died while six others were injured when a passenger van fell into Chitral River after the brakes of the vehicle failed.
