As per a handout issued on Friday, there would be a 25% quota in each rank up to that of DSP. The DSP ranks would be filled through a competitive exam conducted by the Public Service Commission.
An education analysis of the 1,605 constables hired reveals 87% have college or university degrees while only 13% of them completed matriculation, the minimum requirement. This means 128 of the successful candidates have postgraduate degrees, 390 are graduates, 879 are FA or FSc graduates and 208 completed matriculation.
This NTS test was held in 2015. Over 54,000 candidates applied for 1,605 vacancies in the K-P police. Of the total applicants, 16,008 candidates met the physical measurement standards and passed the physical endurance test.
Those who qualified then appeared in the NTS test. Only 2,990 candidates passed after which they took a psychological test. Finally, 1,605 were enlisted as constables in all the districts of K-P, after they cleared their medical tests and other verification processes.
Of the 1,605 constables, 166 have been recruited in Peshawar, 358 in Mardan, 143 in Bannu, 98 in DI Khan, 155 in Hazara and 519 in Malakand.
