According to initial reports, police officials died on the spot

QUETTA: Two police personnel were shot dead on Friday when unidentified armed men opened fire at them outside a mosque in Quetta's Multani Muhala, Express News reported.

According to initial reports, police officials died on the spot when armed men fired at them. Another policeman was seriously injured during the firing.

The bodies of Head Constable Mushtaq and constable Wajid were immediately Civil Hospital Quetta for a post-mortem

The assailants managed to flee the scene of crime. Police and Frontier Corps personnel reached the spot and have started an investigation. There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

Last week, unidentified armed men killed two policemen on Sariab road in Quetta. “Four armed assailants on motorcycles targeted the personnel at a checkpoint in Bibi Nani Ziarat area,” said Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Quetta, Syed Imtiaz Shah.

The personnel were identified as Azizullah and Saifullah and their bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital in Quetta. “The assailants escaped from the scene of the incident,” the official added.

Police officials reached the site of the attack and began an investigation in to the incident.

Condemning the killings, chief minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri sought report from the authorities concerned.
