PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has decided on January 25 as the tentative date to present its report on the third working group of the ninth National Finance Commission (NFC) award.

The K-P finance department committee on the NFC award held a meeting at the Civil Secretariat on Thursday. Government consultant Ehtisham Khan presented his report. Finance minister Muzaffar Said, as the chairman of Group-III, presided over the meeting, while K-P government’s non-statutory member for the NFC award Professor Ibrahim Khan, finance secretary and special secretary were in attendance.

Ibrahim confirmed to The Express Tribune January 25 was the tentative date for the presentation. “In a meeting of the NFC, held on April 28, 2015, four working groups were made and each one was handed a separate task. We are Working Group-III, and were tasked with efficiency and expenditure analysis at the federal and provincial level,” he said. Ibrahim, who is also a senior bureaucrat, conducted a study on the topics and compiled his report.

“We will present the report in a group meeting with finance secretaries of all the provinces and the date has been shared with them.” He added the meeting would be held when every member of the group was available.” The professor revealed the report was based on a study of the past five years and suggestions were coming for the next five years.
