The newly elected chairmen from 50 union councils of Islamabad will exercise their right of vote to elect members

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that it would hold Local Government Elections on reserved seats for women, peasants/workers, technocrat, youth and Non-Muslims in the Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) on January 18. The decision was taken under Section 17 of the ICT Local Government Act, 2015 read with Rule 41 of the Islamabad Capital Territory Local Government (Conduct of Elections) Rules, 2015, said spokesman of the ECP. The newly elected chairmen from 50 union councils of Islamabad will exercise their right of vote to elect members against reserved seats of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad.
