Silicon Valley news website ValueWalk recently reported that Apple’s rumoured 4-inch model would go into production soon.

“Apple has already engaged in a small-scale trial production of the smartphone, with mass production of the iPhone 7c ready to begin later this month,” the report stated.

The new model will be somewhat similar in shape and size to the previous iPhone 5s, while its price would be between $400 and $500 without a contract.

Apple products website 9to5mac also released mockups of the rumoured 4-inch phone that it dubbed ‘iPhone 6c’, which may come in colours that resemble an iPod Touch. In terms of physical design, however, the phone is expected to resemble the current crop of iPhones.

In early November, an investment note by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI securities claimed that Apple would be releasing the new 4-inch iPhone in early 2016.

Kuo, who has a proven record in predicting Apple’s future plans, anticipated at the time that the device will feature the A9 processor, the one found in the current 6s and 6s Plus models, and “resembles an upgraded iPhone 5s”. Kuo also noted that the device will have 16GB of storage, NFC, Touch ID, and 2GB of RAM.
