Afridi took to twitter to express his support for the 23-year-old, and said that he is happy to have the left-armer back in the squad.

Amir thanked the veteran all-rounder for his guidance and support, and called him his ‘elder brother’.
“I would like to thank Shahid Afridi for all of his support and guidance,” said Amir.
“He encouraged me at the Bangladesh Premier League when we met, also in domestic cricket and recently at the fitness camp.

“He is like an elder brother to me and his help has been crucial to the progress I have made since my return to cricket. His support has been very important.”
The 23-year-old expressed his delight after being selected for the tour of New Zealand.
“I’m really excited that my name has been included in the squads for the tour of New Zealand,” said a delighted Amir while talking to PakPassion.net.
“There is nothing like playing for your country and that's what I want more than anything else.”
Amir, who will play his first international match after a break of more than five years, thanked Pakistan Cricket Board [PCB] for giving him the opportunity to wear the green shirt again.
“I thank the PCB for giving me a second chance,” said Amir.
“I'm absolutely delighted at being given the opportunity to wear the Pakistan green shirt once again.”
