AIOU Vice-Chancellor Prof Shahid Siddiqui said that the institute, being the largest online and distance learning courses public sector university, wished to encourage young scientists and academicians to present their research findings for the benefit of society as a whole.
“These findings and inventions can play a vital role in helping the socio-economic uplift of the society and the country at large. The winners will be awarded special prizes,” Siddiqui said.
“The university has also set up a separate office of research, innovation and commercialisation to maintain liaison with the industrial sector to share latest research in relevant fields,” he said adding that the office will work as a bridge between researchers and the end-users for the application of latest knowledge in a particular field.
The society should get benefit of the research done by educational institutions, he said.
