The much anticipated film Ho Mann Jahaan released worldwide on January 1 and instantly won hearts. General public and celebrities alike, everyone loved the movie and lauded Asim Raza on his debut film, including former Bollywood actress Pooja Bhatt

When she walked out of the cinema, the actress couldn't help but gush that she was "blown away" by the film.

The fact is that it is a great film and is receiving appreciation from all quarters, including the saner element from India. The team has done a fabulous job and I want to congratulate the team for another feather in the cap of resurgent cinema in Pakistan... And I urge all readers to watch it ... It's worth every Rupee...

Hassan | 8 years ago | Reply @Gaurav: True, but the gandasa type movies are more like regional cinema not representing the masses.it is made for Punjab side as u must be aware of the gandasa culture in Punjab, plus the language they use in those movies is punjabi. so do not label them as Pakistani movies. they are punjabi regional cinema, they don't even run in other cities like Karachi.

khurram shahzad | 8 years ago | Reply @Rahul: First, if Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt are not making film worth of 100 crores it does not mean they are not relevant. By the way, Bhatt group has given so many young directors, producers and actors to indian film industry. They cannot be irreverent. Yes, indian film market is mammoth and we Pakistanis are fully aware of it and want to get advantage of big indian market and why not. Now regarding aspect of earning from film. Last year Bajarani Bhaijaan earned 312crores on indian boxes office and this film was released on 4000 screens in india so the per screen share of Bajarangi Bhaijaan's earning was 780000. In Pakistan, "Jawani Phir Nahi Ani" made 39crore domestically from just 86 screens and per screen this film made 4500000. Now if convert Pakistani currency into indian rupees then it will be 2800000. If we convert per screen earning of Bajarangi Bhaijaan into Pakistani rupees then it will be 1200000 which still short of 1600000. Now tell which film has performed better? Indian movies are doing well only because market and more screens. If same space is awarded to Pakistani film I'm sure Pakistani films can do phenomenal business in india. About Oscar, please let us know how many indian films actually won Oscars in foreign language category. I guess number you will be looking for is 0. And how many times indian films have been short listed in Oscars in same category. Three times only. First was Mother India then Mira Nair's Salaam Bombay and last film was Lagaan. As far as Pakistan is concerned, we have just re-started and since 2013 we are sending our films to Oscars and every year quality of Pakistani films are impressing everyone. Just watch Jami's Moor you will understand what exactly I'm saying.

To some extent I agree what you have said but if you really want to know potential of newly revived Pakistani film industry then india must open their market for Pakistani cinematic products. It is not about patriotism. If it were to be only patriotism then we would have not allowed indian movies in our cinemas. The approach of our government and film makers and exhibitors is open and flexible. They want every quality work to be exhibit in our cinemas whether it is indian film or Hollywood. Our cinema goers do not judge films with their ethnic backgrounds. Yes, there are some instances where Pakistan banned some films and they had right reasons to do so. It is common thing in every industry of the world but 90% of Indian films are being shown in Pakistani cinemas without any hustle. May I ask is India doing same thing for Pakistani films. I guess not. Last year Pakistani film "Bin Roye" was released in few cinemas but had very strong reaction from extremist parties like Shiv Sena. Because of extreme reaction from hard liners no Indian distributor or producer is willing to release Pakistani film in India. What will you say about that? Have you ever heard the news that an extremist group or Party from Pakistan threatened cinema exhibitors or film makers for releasing indian films. I guess not. There is wrong perception all over that India and Pakistan enjoy similar culture. Well, i beg to differ because our society is more tolerant and flexible comparing India and this is not a myth but factual reality. What Aamir Khan had to face after one statement even from his own filmy colleagues like Anupam Kher. Apart, yes we do agree we have to learn more about dynamics of film business and for that we need more screens. Fortunately process has been started.

They have been replaced by younger lots making great films like Farhan Akhtar, Rohit Shetty, Kabir Khan etc. Indian industry is too huge for you to compete. Not just Hindi movies but other regional movies are making inroads. A few of them even make it to the final listings of Oscar. Pakistan hardly makes 10-12 movies a year. Out of those let's say even 50% of them are good movies, it still has a long way to go. Indian industry has consistently been on the top for years and years. You cannot just expect to come around and give tough competition within 2-3 years. And besides why do you even need to show it in India to be successful? Let's see you try to be successful in your country only. But that's never gonna happen. There's too much unprofessionalism still in Pak film industry.

Patriotism does have some stake for any indigenous film industry but if the quality films are not produced, even patriotic feelings also would not help and audiences will refrain themselves from spending money after bad films. Indian film industries survive producing around 10% to 20% quality products. Pakistani film industry has just started and they need to learn how to sustain where every Friday the fate changes. Sometimes I cannot understand over-patriotic enthusiasm of yours guys. Even you people would not be able to bear your gandasa and gujjar films as these were not the films that you want to see. You are flocking to theaters as now your country is now producing what you really want to see. But when it comes to India, you must learn the fact that India has a very large scale market. You might not aware that Hindi film industry which mostly referred as Bollywood is part where it covers 35% of India. In region like south India, West Bengal, even Maharashtra, local film industry are very strong. They have to compete with quality local product which are sometimes far superior than Bollywood product also. Recent exam was "Bahubali" which was simultaneously dubbed In Hindi and released by the "Dharma Production" company. If Pakistani film industry can come up with such quality product, then certainly it will find a place since at last Money matters the most.

Hope you were not drowsy while writing these comments. Let me explain why he and his daughter Pooja are gushing over new Pakistani films and having gaga moments with our new breed of film makers. In fact, they did not expect the way Pakistani film industry is reviving in every genre. They did not see it coming. But after watching work of re-invented film industry of Pakistan, their reactions are spontaneous and genuine.The kind of quality Pakistani film makers are showing with their cinematic product is second to non and that thing is troubling indian film makers like Mahesh Bhatt but in positive way. Indian film makers like Mahesh Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri know if india opens her market for Pakistani films in same way Pakistan does for Indian movies then Pakistani films can give toughest competition to their own films.
