Stay order: PHC issues notice to Kohat University VC, registrar

PESHAWAR:

A single bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) stayed teachers’ appointments in the pharmacy department of Kohat University and issued notices to the vice chancellor and registrar of the university on Thursday.

The bench comprising Justice Qaiser Rasheed heard a petition filed by Kohat University Assistant Professor Farmanullah through his lawyer Moazzam Butt. The bench was informed the university advertised three positions for tenure track, grade-18, for the pharmacy department.

Butt argued his client who has a PhD in microbiology applied for the position, however, the selection team ignored him despite his eligibility and seniority compared to the other two lecturers who were appointed.

Butt contended the rules were deliberately changed to eliminate his client from the process.
