The Education Department has taken action against 1,024 teachers in connection with poor performance standards in recent months.
An Education Department spokesperson said on Thursday that the action had been taken following the receipt of a report.
He said monitoring teams had reported that 116 instructors had failed to regularly show up for routine duties.
The spokesperson said 88 teachers, on the other hand, were absent during November.
He said 231 others had failed to maintain cleanliness standards at schools while others had failed to ensure students’ attendance.
Following the receipt of the report, the spokesperson said, 480 instructors had been fined while 544 had been disciplined through a variety of mediums including censure, confiscation of salaries and an end to increments.
