KOHAT:

Four militants involved in last year’s Army Public School massacre were executed on Tuesday.

The men were hanged in a prison facility in Kohat for their involvement in the attack on the military school in Peshawar, in which a team of nine militants used assault weapons and suicide bombs to kill 151 pupils and staff.

Army chief General Raheel Sharif had signed the black warrants of the four men convicted by a military court, namely Saeed, Murad Khan, Inayatullah and Israruddin, earlier this month.

According to officials, the executed terrorists were involved in suicide attacks, murders and kidnapping for ransom. They were also involved in financing terror groups across the country.

Earlier this month, four convicted terrorists were hanged in the same prison facility for their role in last year’s brutal attack on the APS.  The men admitted their involvement in the school attack and other plots, including terror fundraising.

In the wake of last year’s carnage in Peshawar, a series of measures were introduced including a change in the country’s Constitution enabling the establishment of special military courts to fast-track trial of terror-related cases.
