Balochistan violence: Two FC soldiers among seven dead

Three militants, including commander, killed by security forces in Turbat

Seven people, including two security personnel, were killed in four separate violent incidents in Balochistan on Tuesday.

In Mastung, a Frontier Corps (FC) soldier was killed and two more suffered injuries in a roadside explosion in the Ispilinji area.

An FC vehicle was on its way to supply water to check posts when it was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion, according to the force’s spokesman.

No group has come forward to claim responsibility for the attack.

Another FC soldier was killed while one more was injured in a remote-controlled bomb blast in Kech.

The FC spokesperson said a convoy of the force was on a security patrol when it was attacked in the Dasht area.


Three ‘militants’ killed

A militant commander was among three suspects killed during an exchange of fire with security forces in the Turbat area.

The FC spokesperson said the forces were conducting a search operation in the Siri Khan area when they were attacked. In the ensuing shootout, three militants belonging to the banned Lashkar-e-Balochistan were reportedly  killed.

Landmine blast

Two people were killed in a landmine blast in the Chamalang area of Loralai district. Sources in the security forces said two people were travelling on a motorcycle when they hit a landmine. Both of them died on the spot.
