A single-member bench, comprising Justice Yahya Afridi, was informed that the juvenile – whose family requested that her name be not mentioned during the proceedings – was arrested for her alleged involvement in looting cash and jewellery from a house within the jurisdiction of Michni Gate police station.
The bench was told that the juvenile’s age was recorded as 15 years in the FIR and the looted items were not recovered from her possession.
The defence lawyer requested the court to release her on bail.
The bench accepted the plea. However, the court ordered that other suspects in the case would not be provided relief.
Released
The same bench also released Khair Muhammad, an Afghan refugee, on bail. Muhammad was arrested for his involvement in ‘immoral activities’.
Abdul Faiz, his lawyer, said his client was arrested along with three other suspects.
He argued that the other three were released on bail while his client was refused bail on the grounds that he was an Afghan refugee.
According to Faiz, Muhammad was a registered Afghan refugee and NADRA had complete records on him.
After hearing the arguments, the court accepted the plea and granted him bail.
