Police raids: 40 suspects killed, 200 arrested during 2015

HYDERABAD:

More than 40 criminals were killed and 200 injured suspects were arrested by Hyderabad police during 2015.

This was revealed in the annual performance report of the Hyderabad police, prepared under the supervision of SSP Irfan Baloch.

The police carried out more than 240 targeted operations in different parts of the district. During the period under report, over 200 gangs of criminals were busted and 652 criminals and five hoarders were arrested. The police also arrested 134 criminals involved in extortion, street crimes and threatening the traders and shopkeepers.

Additionally, 47 proclaimed offenders and 800 absconders involved in murder, attempt to murder, and kidnapping for ransom were also nabbed by the police. A total of 1,118 thieves involved in house and shops robberies and 2,847 persons involved in other crimes were also arrested by the police. They also seized a total of 538 pistols and 19 gallons homemade illicit liquor during the raids.
