KARACHI:

The PPP and MQM failed to agree on the local government system for Sindh at their core committee meeting in Karachi.

Sources say the PPP has requested two more months to prepare the local body system draft. The MQM coordination committee is yet to give its decision on the extension request.

The meeting was attended by PPP ministers Mazar ul Haq and Syed Murad Ali Shah. The MQM was represented by Syed Sardar Ahmed, Waseem Aftab and Kanwar Naveed Jameel.
