Breaking the drug network: ANF seizes over 37kg of hashish, heroin

Seven suspected drug peddlers held

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 4.5 kg heroin from their possession in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

In the first incident, an ANF team, on a tip-off, raided a courier service office in the airport area and intercepted a consignment containing 2.5 kg heroin and arrested the suspected drug peddler, identified as Muhammad Shahnawaz Kayani. The heroin had been concealed in baby jackets in the consignment. The suspect was handed over to the police after initial investigation.

Another ANF team intercepted a car (LEH-996) on Margalla Road Islamabad and seized 1 kg heroin. Zeeshan Ansari, the car occupant, has been arrested.


An ANF team detained a passenger, identified as Fazaldad, at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport after 1kg heroin was recovered from him. The suspect was booked on a Jeddah-bound flight.

Similarly, the ANF Rawalpindi team intercepted a car (SF-760-ICT) near Kashmir Hotel in Islamabad and recovered 20 kg hashish concealed in secret cavities of the car. The drug trafficker identified as Zakirullah, who hailed from Khyber Agency, was taken into custody for further investigation. The ANF team also seized three kg hashish from Muhammad Aslam, a resident of Gujranwala, after he was intercepted near Chungi No-26, Rawalpindi.

Yet in another raid, the ANF intercepted a van (LHD-4628) near Haji Shah More on GT Road in Attock and recovered 10 kg hashish. Sajid Hussain and Muhammad Tariq Khan, the suspected drug pushers, were arrested.
