HASANABDAL: Six people including three girls were killed when a passenger wagon collided with a dumper truck here on Thursday. Seven others were injured critically.

The collision with the dumper truck (TAB-506) approaching from the opposite side, occurred when driver of a Haripur-bound van (LWC-1378) lost control over the steering of his vehicle, reportedly due to speeding. The accident happened in Jhari Kuff area Hasanabdal.

Tayyaba Bibi and her two daughters Malaika and Noor Fatima who were travelling in the van died on the spot.

The van driver, Kamran, a resident of Haripur, an unidentified woman and a girl reported to be her daughter also died on the spot.

The injured were identified as Sheikh Muhammad Chanzeb, a resident of Hassanabdal, Muhammad Khan, a resident of Haripur, and Javeria, Bilal Iqbal and Nasira residents of Abbottabad. Two injured men were not identified till the filing of this report.

All the injured persons as well as the bodies were rushed to the Hassanabdal THQ Hospital. The injured were later referred to the Rawalpindi DHQ Hospital.

In a remarkable act of compassion, locals in large numbers gathered outside the hospital to donate blood for the injured.
