The initiative was organised by the Peace Education and Development (PEAD) Foundation, along with Unicef, under the Social Cohesion and Resilience programme.
Students from 12 schools and seminaries took part in various games, including cricket, badminton and football. The event aimed to provide a single platform for students to interact and learn from each other.
K-P School Officers Association General Secretary Samiullah Khan Khalil was the chief guest. He hailed the initiative, saying it placed students of madrassas and schools on a level-playing field and spread the message of peace and unity.
Abdullah from HSGHS No-1 City remarked that it was enjoyable to play with students of seminaries.
He added such activities would boost the confidence of students and help them become active citizens.
Muhammad Ajmal, a student from Madrassa Talimul Quran, Pakha Ghulam, was voted the best football player among the students. He said while there was an abundance of talent and energy, there was a lack of opportunity.
“I am thankful to PEAD for arranging such an event,” he said. Gifts and certificates were distributed among the players at the end.
