No matter what the ongoing political conditions may be between India and Pakistan, art and culture always manage to bring people of the two countries together.

One such recent example is of Indian poet Akhil Katyal, who took to Facebook to write a touching tribute to veteran singer Farida Khanum.

The tribute post was published after a recent video of Farida surfaced on the social media site singing famous ghazal, Aaj Jaanay Ki Zid Na Karo, at an informal gathering.

The beautiful ghazal was penned by the talented Fayyaz Hashmi, who wrote more than 2000 songs during his career and was instrumental in launching Farida Khanum. This one is perhaps one of his most loved works.
