Ties with Washington: Envoy briefs PM on headway in defence talks

Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States on Monday briefed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the progress of the defence consultative meetings between the two countries.


Ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani had called on the premier at the PM House. The meeting was also attended by PM’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi and PM’s Secretary Fawad Hassan Fawad.


Separately, FWO director general and the NHA chairman also called on the premier.


FWO chief Maj Gen Muhammad Afzal and his NHA counterpart Shahid Ashraf Tarar briefed PM Nawaz on the progress made on various infrastructure projects in Pakistan.


The premier appreciated the work being carried out by the two agencies and ordered maintaining the standard of work as well as completing the development schemes in the stipulated time.
