Speakers have urged young women to show their mettle and excel in business.
They were speaking at a workshop titled “Women Entrepreneurship Capacity Enhancement” which was attended by around 200 graduate and postgraduate girl students of the Women University Bagh on Monday.
The workshop was sponsored by the United States Embassy under its entrepreneurship development programme in Pakistan with the collaboration of Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness.
Guest speaker and social activist Fatima Lodhi said that women have much more capacity than their male counterparts to run businesses at the small level.
She asked the students that after completing their studies they should enhance their capacity to learn ideas about entrepreneurship.
“Motivation and technical entrepreneurial skills can help any educated woman to pursue her dreams as a successful entrepreneur and businesswoman,” Lodhi said.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairperson Najma Shakoor said that AJK women have potential to show excellent performance in any business field.
Project head Syed Ali Hameed said that such capacity-building activities covering areas of business communication, writing and marketing of business plan will be conducted across the country for women entrepreneurs.
Pakistani Business Laws booklets were also distributed among the participants to.
Women University Bagh Vice Chancellor Aleem Khan said that educated girls should use their education and other skills to run their own businesses than vring for government jobs.
