The government will provide laptops to around 100,000 students in 2016, who have passed their matriculation exams.
A government official said that the distribution would continue in the next year to encourage students to excel in education.
“So far, the government has provided laptops to all students who passed their matriculation exams with 78 per cent or higher marks before 2014,” he said.
“In the next phase, laptops will be distributed among students who passed the matriculation exam in 2014 session. The process will be completed by February 2016,” the official said.
He said that funds had been allocated for buying the new laptops.
