Benefit Of Doubt: Two acquitted of murder charge
The prosecution had been unable to prove them guilty, the lawyer told the court
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Saturday acquitted two men of a murder charge. Muhammad Saleem and Ghulam Rasool were accused of killing a man, identified as Yaseen, in 2009 following a scuffle over the purchase of some goats at a market. The third accused, who was identified as Abbas, was declared a proclaimed offender. The counsel for Saleem and Rasool had submitted in the court that they had not killed Yaseen. The prosecution had been unable to prove them guilty, the lawyer told the court. The judge acquitted them giving them the benefit of doubt.
