According to alFalah police, Imtiaz, who is a labourer, found 26-year-old Ali Gulzar fleeing from his house when he was coming back from work. Imtiaz chased Gulzar and shot him dead after catching up with him near Bagh-e-Korangi.
He suspected Gulzar of having illicit relations with his wife, Arbab Bibi, said a police official. The accused then returned and killed his wife inside their house in Jumma Goth. AlFalah SHO Ahsan Chandio said the incident is a case of honour killing as the accused suspected the two of having an affair.

Police reached the spot and shifted the girl's body to taluka hospital, Ghotki, for a postmortem. Earlier, the girl's parents claimed Maria was cleaning a gun when it went off accidentally but the neighbours disputed this and told the police it was an act of karo-kari, not an accident.
The incharge of the Qadirpur check-post, Muhammad Murad Mahar, confirmed the murder but said the motive behind it has yet to be determined. He said the accused has fled the scene and is wanted by the police. Mahar added that the case has yet to be registered, as the girl's parents will lodge the FIR after her funeral.
