LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Saturday sought comments from the Shahdara SHO on a petition filed by a woman, seeking the registration of a case against her husband for beating her up.Petitioner Sughra Bibi told the court that she had got married to Muhammad Aslam eight years ago. “He is in the habit of flying into a rage over petty issues and beating me,” she said. She said that Aslam’s family and neighbours had asked him on several occasions not to beat her. “However, he has not stopped beating me,” she said. Sughra said that she had gone to the police station and asked police to help her. However, she said that they had not taken her seriously and turned her away. She requested the court to direct the Shahdara SHO to register a case against Aslam.
