Rabiul Awwal 12: Bans imposed in Kohat for security

These bans have been implemented with immediate effect till December 24

PESHAWAR: Kohat DC Zahir Shah banned a series of actions under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to ensure stability on Rabiul Awwal 12. This was stated in a handout issued on Friday. According to the document, the following actions have been banned: engaging in wall-chalking and pillion-riding, raising provocative slogans and speeches, forming an assembly of five or more people at public places for any nefarious purpose, displaying weapons, using loudspeakers except for Azaan, distributing objectionable materials, using vehicles with tinted glasses, aerial firing, selling petroleum products in small containers, selling fire crackers and standing on rooftops of buildings/houses in areas through which processions pass. These bans have been implemented with immediate effect till December 24. “Violators of this order will be punished under Section 188 of Pakistan Penal Code,” stated the document.
