LAHORE:
Pakistan Post introduced same-day delivery service for nominal charges in the provincial capital on Thursday.
Post Master General Aslam Khan Niazi inaugurated the service at a ceremony at General Post Office (GPO). “If the project is successful in Lahore, we will launch the service in other cities as well,” he said. He said the same delivery service could be extended between cities with strong networks.
He said of the 20 courier service companies currently operating, one was providing the service. “Pakistan Post has introduced the service on lower rates,” he said.
The postmaster general said the Pakistan Post had been working with the Bank of Punjab and Aitchison College. “They are satisfied with the services and have no complaints,” he said. “Now all the people of Lahore can receive their mail, parcels and gifts on the same day,” he added.
