Deadly escalation: Water fight leads to acid attack

Police said they were looking for Mehtab

Two men were badly burned when a colleague threw acid on them during a tiff that began with a water fight at an X-ray laboratory in Rahim Yar Khan on Wednesday.Police said Aadil, 14, Kamran, 22, residents of Muslim Colony, and their colleague Mehtab used to work as cleaning staff at the X-ray laboratory of a private hospital. They were sweeping the laboratory on Wednesday when they started a water fight in good fun. However, the humour soured after a while and the three started quarrelling. Mehtab picked up a bottle of acid kept in the laboratory and threw it at Aadil and Kamran. He then fled. Police said they were informed and they took the two boys to the hospital for treatment and registered a case. Police said they were looking for Mehtab.
