Women Empowerment: BISP chairperson looks at Turkey
BISP is acknowledged as one of the top five social safety net programmes worldwide

Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon has said that efforts are being made to establish a ‘Sisters in Success’ model, through which women who have established themselves as successful entrepreneurs at the international and national levels will share their messages with others for inspiration. She said this during a meeting with Turkish Minister for Family and Social Policies Dr Sema Ramazanoglu. Memon said that inspirational messages from Turkish women entrepreneurs could be an important starting point for mutual collaboration. She added that BISP is acknowledged as one of the top five social safety net programmes worldwide and is globally appreciated for its transparency and use of technology. She said 5.2 million women are enrolled in this programme who are given national identity cards and they get quarterly stipends.
