USEFP UG programme: 127 undergrads begin journey to US
The 2015 Global UGRAD student cohort will depart in early Jan 2016
At a pre-departure briefing at a local hotel, US Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer, Bettina Gorczynski congratulated 127 Pakistani students travelling to the US for undergraduate study as part of the US government-funded Global Undergraduate (Global UGRAD) Program. A total of 252 students will participate in this program during the 2015-16 academic year. This group of 127 Pakistani Global UGRAD students of the 2015 cohort will depart in early January 2016. The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) manages the program, which is funded by the US Department of State, and invites Pakistani students to study for an academic semester at American colleges and universities. USEFP Executive Director Rita Akhtar noted that 58 per cent of the students are women.
