ISLAMABAD:

College teachers in Islamabad have taken their issues to Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Secretary Khalid Hanif. Representatives of Central Body of Federal Government College Teachers’ Association (FGCTA) met with the secretary to express their frustration with the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC), which has not met since the first quarter of 2014, thereby withholding promotions of grade 17 teachers to grade 18, and for not holding a meeting on grant of time scale since 2012. FGCTA President Professor Manzar Kazmi also expressed the association’s dissatisfaction with the four-tier formula for colleges teachers. Hanif assured the representatives that he would direct the Federal Directorate of Education to hold a DPC meeting at the earliest.

He also promised to resolve the issue according to the demands of teachers.
